5 Bags Every Man Should Own

Bags in various shapes and sizes have been a staple for women for as far as fashion has been around. Not just for practical purposes but also as a means to make a statement. However, this accessory has only been widely accepted by men in recent times, especially as anything other than for carrying your things from point A to B.

A bag can bring so much more to the table for men and truly does help make your style complete.  Other than its practical purposes, you can absolutely find a specific, bag for a man for any occasion that also looks great.

In this blog post, I am going to highlight 5 specific stylish men’s bags that you can carry with confidence that will provide safe transport of your things while looking super sharp in the process.

The Briefcase

The most traditional bag I have on this list. The briefcase is a timeless classic that will never go out of favor with men due to it’s superior practicality and acceptance throughout the world. This is probably the most acceptable bag for men to be carrying around, espspecially if you work in the corporate world. When looking to purchase a briefcase, go outside the bigger, boxy varieties which are rather outdated and opt for something more slim and sleek. As far as colors go, both black and brown in leather are the shades of choice as they work really well in a business atmosphere while being versatile enough to be worn with most items in your wardrobe. Every man should own a briefcase or two in my opinion.

Tote Bag

Currently not a popular option for men but that is slowly changing. The tote bag is ultra convenient as you have easy access to the contents within without having to open a zipper or a few buttons. The tote bag comes in a variety of shades but I particularly like the tote bag in tan or beige as it provides a classic take on a modern bag for men. The tote is a great bag to carry your essentials within a casual environment without the threat of looking tacky. A tote bag has its place in men’s style.

Messenger Bag

Here is another popular bag for men, especially since the rise of the Internet age. The messenger bag is a decent alternative to the briefcase and can be used to carry books, a laptop and many other day-to-day essentials. Quite recently, the messenger bag has received a facelift and now comes in a variety of styles with some of them being really luxurious looking. Again, black and brown leather look the best and can be pulled wearing jeans and a t-shirt or a 2-piece suit.

Gym Bag

Being active does not provide an excuse to not looking good and this goes with carrying your active wear as well. There are plenty of good-looking, stylish gym bags available to men today. The key is to stick with ones that offer sharp, neutral colors that go well with what you currently own. Check out this navy bag as a good example of one that is versatile enough to go well when entering the gym or when doing some outdoor activities such as hiking. Get a gym bag that will work well for you in multiple scenarios in which you are active.

Duffel Bag

Last on the list is the duffel bag. I love the duffel bag given that it does not sacrifice either space or style, which is a difficult thing to do. There are many styles of duffel bag you can choose but always go for something a little lengthier instead of bulky. The slimmer versions compliment the more modern cuts of men’s clothing you can find in most menswear stores today. Brown is the color of choice here, as it still gives off a luxurious vibe without being formal. The duffel is a great bag to use when you have to carry something a little larger than usual or if you are going away for the weekend.

As you can see, there are now many options for men as far as bags are concerned. Whichever bag you end up choosing when you go out, make sure it suits the environment you are in and more importantly, you sport it with confidence.
